Eclectic Much?
I got an ITunes card for Christmas, so I grabbed some new songs to walk to. These aren't in any particular order, though at some point I do need to arrange them for warm up/full-out pavement pounding/cool down.
Young Folks - Peter Pjorn and John
If She Wants Me - Belle & Sebastian. Goodness, where was this one oh, fifteen years ago?
Rhythm and Soul - Spoon
Molly's Chambers - Kings of Leon. Rock with a capital R -- it'll be great for a future return to running. The live SoHo version is rawer and grittier and just better than on the album, IMHO.
Rules and Regulations - Rufus Wainwright
Grey in L.A. - Loudon Wainwright
Lucky Man - The Verve. Nothing to recommend it lyrics-wise, it's just one of those tunes that caught me out humming it anyhow.
Fireworks, Flight of the Order of the Phoenix, and Dumbledore's Army - Nicholas Hopper. All strong and evocative of their respective scenes, and I appreciate them more with subsequent viewings/hearings. Oh, yes, I'm liking Hopper.
All My Days - Alexi Murdoch
No One's Gonna Love You - Band of Horses
Down in a Hole - Ryan Adams
Upside Down - Jack Johnson. Well, this is just plain fun to walk with :-)

David Wilcox
My sister and I saw David Wilcox at the historic Mystic downtown last night. What an excellent show, at the perfect, intimate venue. Eddie Elliott, who opened, was just terrific, too.
I only wish my camera had behaved better!
I enjoyed it so much, that it's lit a whole new "hop to, get a babysitter, woman!" fire beneath my ass.

"Chickens in the houses, chickens in the trees..."
Apparently, the "Spirit in the Sky" guy retired to a Petaluma chicken farm. And sang about it. What a hoot! I mean, cluck.

Na Na Na Na Na Na Na
It's been quite some time since I've been excited about an album release (or even noticed, for that matter). But Beck's latest, Guero, is one for my list. Exactly the kind of stuff that I find good for driving. Loving the crazy E-Pro video.
