Bonfante Gardens
Yesterday we made the three-hour drive to the new Bonfante Gardens in Gilroy. It's an agriculturally-themed park, filled with veggie rides, blooms, and freakishly-grafted "circus trees". Worth the drive and the $29 admission fee (we, luckily, had $10 off courtesy Raley's)? Well, let's just say it was good Saturday fun, once. You'll have fun with rides like the "Garlic Twirl," the "Mushroom Swing," and the "Banana Split." Those with small children would especially appreciate the "Artichoke Dip," the "Apple and Worm," and the beautiful old-time carousel. This is a family park, so you thrill-seekers won't find much of an adrenaline rush, but the "Quicksilver Express" coaster provided plenty of airtime for me. I couldn't get as many pics as I wanted; I came down with an inopportune illness, which cut our day a tad short...

welcome!
This is the answer to my "wanted a semi-regular photo feature, but without the hassle and temporal rigidity imposed by the 'Pic of the Week' format (don't worry - you can still access all the old stuff in the photobox!)."
