A scant handful of photos from a too-brief and only trip to Toronto to catch one of the last performances of "Phantom" at the glorious Pantages.

scott fountain
This ornate marble fountain lives on the lushly decrepit Belle Isle in the Detroit River. "Scott's Folly" was constructed from 1910-1925, using the $500,000 estate bequeathed by colorful gambler James Scott upon his death at 79. His will also stipulated that a life-size bronze statue be built near the fountain. What generosity. It wasn't fully-functioning when we took these pictures, but it still ranks as one of my personal Seven Wonders of Ancient Detroit.
